The BCAA Road Safety Foundation provides leadership by combining our strengths and resources together with those of our diverse partners. We continue to broaden and strengthen our base of partner support with government, corporate and community leaders as well as BCAA members. We are proud to be affiliated with the following leading road safety organizations:

BCAA

British Columbia Automobile Association

The British Columbia Automobile Association (BCAA) is a not-for-profit member services organization with more than 790,000 members in British Columbia and the Yukon. BCAA connects their members to a team of automotive, travel and insurance professionals who are dedicated to serving their needs.

BCAA is affiliated with the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) and the American Automobile Association (AAA), which provide reciprocal services to BCAA members travelling outside of BC and the Yukon. For over a century, BCAA has advocated for:

  • Fair treatment of motorists
  • Better roads
  • Safety of all road users

A key purpose of the Association is educating road users in the principles of road safety. BCAA is proud to be the primary sponsor of the BCAA Road Safety Foundation.

ICBC

Insurance Corporation of British Columbia

The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) is a provincial Crown corporation established in 1973 to provide universal auto insurance to BC motorists. ICBC invests in road safety and loss management programs to reduce road-related deaths, injuries and crashes, auto crime, and fraud. In addition, they provide driver licensing, vehicle registration and licensing services on behalf of the provincial government at locations throughout the province.

Preventable

The Community Against Preventable Injuries

The Community Against Preventable Injuries has become a province-wide, multi-partner organization designed to raise awareness, transform attitudes, and ultimately change behaviours. Its goal is to significantly reduce the number – and severity – of preventable injuries in BC. The Community Against Preventable Injuries brings together concerned individuals and organizations to share information of the daily unnecessary risks we all take, and helps create a culture where we all look out for each other.

Rotary Donate a Car

The Rotary Club of White Rock-Millennium

The Rotary Club of White Rock – Millennium is a branch of the Rotary Club International. The Rotary operates a broad range of humanitarian, intercultural, and educational programs and activities to improve the community, our world and its people.
Locally, the Rotary Club of White Rock – Millennium operates the Donate a Car program. A portion of the proceeds from this program go to the BCAA Road Safety Foundation.

Work Safe BC

WorkSafeBC

WorkSafeBC is an independent provincial agency dedicated to promoting healthy and safe workplaces for British Columbia’s workers and employers. They consult with, and educate, employers and workers. As well, they monitor compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. In the event of work-related injuries or diseases, WorkSafeBC works with the affected parties to provide return-to-work rehabilitation, compensation, health-care benefits and a range of other services.

BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit

BC Injury Research and Prevention Unit (BCIRPU) is a core research program within the Centre for Community Child Health Research. BCIRPU is determined to reduce the societal and economic burden of injury among all age groups in BC. The BCIRPU works with other organizations to strengthen production and transfer of injury prevention knowledge in BC.

BC Association of Chiefs of Police Traffic Safety Committee

BC Association of Chiefs of Police Traffic Safety Committee

BC Association of Chiefs of Police Traffic Safety Committee advocates for law enforcement strategies that reduce injuries and deaths on BC roads. They plan and implement provincial traffic law-enforcement campaigns.

Office of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles

Office of the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles (OSMV) is the lead provincial agency for road safety and is responsible for setting strategic direction and ensuring a provincial approach to road safety throughout British Columbia. OSMV regulates drivers and operates a number of programs to help ensure the safe and responsible operation of motor vehicles in BC.

Cosco BC

Council of Senior Citizens Organizations of British Columbia

Council of Senior Citizens Organizations of British Columbia (COSCO BC) is the largest federation of senior’s organizations in BC, representing seniors for over 50 years. COSCO’s purpose is to:

  • Assemble, co-ordinate and advance proposals and resolutions concerned with the welfare of elder citizens and submit to government
  • Advance the social and physical welfare of all elder citizens in BC
Kidney CAR

Kidney Car

The Kidney Car Program is a vehicle recycling program run by the Kidney Foundation of Canada BC  which provides leadership for kidney health and improved lives for all Canadians affected by kidney disease. The Kidney Car Program accepts old and unwanted cars, trucks, motorcycles, even farm equipment, tows them away for free and provides donors with tax receipts. The BCAA Road Safety Foundation receives part of the proceeds from donations made by BCAA members.
