Play it safe

In the know

  • Know BC’s driving laws. Understand the consequences if you crash or break the law.

Keep a clear head

  • Avoid distractions.
  • Never drink and drive.
  • Never drive when you’re tired, angry or upset.
  • Limit the number of passengers when you become a full-privileged driver

Safe habits

  • Always wear you seat belt
  • Respect speed limits and weather conditions.
  • Always remain alert for potentially risky situations.
  • Follow the passenger limit for your Novice (N) licence.
  • Limit the number of passengers when you become a full-privileged driver.

Vehicle prep & use

  • Perform routine vehicle maintanance and safety checks.
  • Obey your family’s driving agreement.

Respect your parent-teen driving agreement. It will guide you as you continue to develop skills and gain experience in a variety of driving conditions and situations.

Continue Practice Driving

  • Build your skills and experience - ask for help to practice in new driving situations such as:
    • highways
    • city traffic
    • snow
    • heavy rain
  • Make safe driving decisions:
    • limit your number of passengers
    • follow the zero tolerance rules
    • drive within the speed limit
    • don’t drive distracted
