Peer pressure — friends may encourage you to turn the music up, drink and drive, look at text messages, speed or otherwise behave recklessly behind the wheel. Here are a few tips to help you manage peer pressure:
- Arrange for a safe drive home before you go out
- Be prepared to handle various peer pressure situations
- You are in control and make the decisions where, when and how you are going to drive
- If you’re in a situation where you don’t feel safe, call for a ride
- If you need an excuse, say that your parents will take away your driving privileges
