Driver Education

Ready to commit the time and effort needed to learn to drive? Then it’s time to find a quality driver training program.

When selecting a driving school:

  • Focus on quality - rather than cost or convenience
  • Ask around - check with your friends and the Better Business Bureau
  • Call several schools - ask questions about their instructors, curriculum and training vehicles
  • Visit several schools – sit in on a class, look at the vehicles and student materials

Some driver education courses will give you 2 credits towards high school graduation and a 6-month reduction of the novice stage.  For more information visit ICBC.

What you can learn:

  • The rules of the road and how to control the vehicle
  • How to avoid distracted driving
  • How to anticipate dangers and drive defensively
  • What it means to be a safe, courteous and fuel-efficient driver
