At the BCAA Road Safety Foundation (BCAA RSF) we are proud to support professionals in communities all over BC. Whether you’re a firefighter providing child seat instruction or a health clinician counselling an older client on when to stop driving, you can play a key role in making BC roads safer.
Professionals in many sectors can support road safety in their communities including:
- Teachers
- Child Passenger Safety Educators (Technicians)
- Health professionals
- Community Services
- Social Services
- Firefighters
- Police
Depending on your role, as a professional you could:
- Provide information
- Educate others
- Assess driver fitness
- Enforce the laws
- Provide access to equipment
To help you the BCAA RSF has resources ready for you to deliver in most of our program areas including:
Young Drivers:
The BCAA RSF has a DVD workshop ‘In the Driver’s Seat’ you can use to present to parents of teens in the pre-learner, learner and novice stages of driving.
Older Drivers:
‘Living Well, Driving Well’ is an award-winning workshop provided to older drivers by volunteer peers in communities all over BC. You can participate in the workshops or become one of our volunteer presenters.
Child Passenger Safety:
Whether you want to become a certified Child Passenger Safety Educator or provide information at the local health fair, the BCAA RSF has several resources related to ensuring the children in your community are safe while travelling in a vehicle. For more information how you can be involved contact Marg Deibert: phone: 604-297-2155 or email: MargDeibert@bcaa.com
School Safety:
Children are one of the most vulnerable road users. By incorporating a school safety program you can ensure the safety of children and families travelling to and from your school.
