School Safety Patrol Catalogue

The BCAA Road Safety Foundation is working together with schools and school districts to increase the safety of students and their families when traveling to and from school. The School Safety Patrol program provides safety patrol equipment, student resources and training materials to properly train students. Careful consideration has been given to the equipment and materials we provide.

Starter Package

Standard Starter Package for New Schools -For 30 student patrollers and 1 crosswalk

  • 3 safety patrol vests
  • 2 stop signs
  • 3 reflective wristbands
  • 30 whistles with lanyards
  • 30 patroller’s guidebooks
  • 30 certificates of recognition
  • monitoring form
  • 4 traffic cones
  • 1 safety patrol training DVD with trainer’s guide

Note for new schools:  if your patrol team has more than 30 students or more than 1 crosswalk, you may need to order the starter package plus additional equipment and resources.

Safety Patrol Vests

  • 5 point Velcro tear away safety design
  • high visibility vests with 4 inch, 3M reflective tape in WCB configuration
  • adjustable sizing
  • machine washable with reinforced edging
  • made of strong polyester mesh that is 3M reflective material
  • Compliant with CSA Z96-02 Class 2 Level 2, ANSI/ISEA 207-2006 ClassII Level II and WCB compliant
Stop Signs

  • horizontal orientation for curbside positioning

Reflective Wristbands

  • Velcro wristband with 2 inch, 3M reflective material
  • increases visibility of all patrollers
Whistles with lanyards

  • specifically designed for an outdoor safety environment
  • distinct tone and can be heard over a mile away
  • whistles are pealess and therefore cannot be overblown
  • whistles are attached to breakaway lanyards that will easily break apart if accidentally caught on something
Patroller’s Guidebook

  • a 7-page guidebook for students
  • a valuable resource for patrollers to review the patrol procedures and recommended safety practices learned in training
  • includes responsibilities, questions and patrollers pledge
  • can be taken home and shared with a parent/guardian
Certificate of Recognition

  • recognize patrollers for their service, dedication and commitment
  • present certificates at a school assembly or patrol event
